Resolved Question: Why do we put up with such taxation? Who says we have to support big Government when they overspend?
Is it malpractice? How can we turn this thing around?
At first I thought this poem was stupid….then I got mad.
Be sure to read all the way to the end if you do read it.
Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he’s fed.
Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.
Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won’t be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him more,
Tax him till
He’s good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he’s laid.
Put these words
upon his tomb,
‘ Taxes drove me to my doom…’
When he’s gone,
Do not relax,
It’s time to apply
The inheritance tax.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the
most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the
world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
What in the hell happened? Can you spell ‘politicians!’
And I still have to ‘press 1′ for English!?!?!?!?
All of these answers are great…and somewhat consoling…I could relate to some of these as being particularly crazy…dog license tax (over $200 if paid late); tax on eating at a restaurant (they already taxed the restaurant for the food, employee, utilities, utensils, business income and property); and those phone/telecom taxes…!!! It seems like they sit around a table and say, “What do the people do alot and won’t give up?” Then flippin’ tax it. Oregon and Mass are passing a tax on the # of miles you drive, measured by a mini GPS attached to the axle…whoa boy!!! See? Cell phones, driving, watching cable, eating out, having pets, dying…all the things most people definitely do. And Congress??? They spend from expense accounts…so what do they care? I faxed my payroll info to my new employer at FedEx/Kinkos…sure ‘nuf…taxed ! ! !
Thanks for the care each of you took in answering. I can tell it hit some like it did me…un-armed robbery.
John…then let’s find a clause in the constitution that a few of these taxes violate. http://www.usconstitution.net/
Then, we can keep filing based upon case law and precedence (their game).
Or, maybe the bill of rights?
The things they tax make me happy (tv, cellphone, food, dog, driving, heating/cooling, working) so aren’t they impeding our “pursuit of happiness”…okay…so it’s a stretch…let me sleep on it…so far my naps aren’t taxed.
John…lol…I know…I used to be the Sr. Training Specialist for the Federal Reserve (was there 9 yrs) and I conducted New Employee Orientation and gave the whole rundown on that weekend in Jekell Island…away from all eyes and ears. It was a good place to work; we had a joke about when a manager went over budget, ‘what are they going to do?’ “Print some up”. We would pretend the cash in our wallets was wet (for new people)…inside jokes…but they were good to me. Salaries were NOT high, I assure you…but we did hire as many people as wer needed.
Open Question: I’ve recently started my own real estate business?
I’ve recently started my own real estate business from my home. Became certified last week. I’m trying to sell high end homes, but my only problem is that I feel my car is not as appealing to the high end clients. I’ve had instances where clients refused to travel with me to a house i wanted to show them primarily because the interior and exterior of my car is wrecked. Could I possibly buy a luxury car and write it off as a tax so I can attract more high end clients?
Open Question: Will I like the Navy at age 30, enlisted? I am a former business owner.?
I am 29 years old now and due to the economy and some mistakes I made with my money I had to recently shut down my brick and mortar retail business. I started my business when I was 21 years old..
I was grossing about 250 thousand dollars a year, this time 2 years ago. I drove an exotic car and a hummer and I was renting a luxury condo I have had about 50 employees in my 8 years of business.
Because I was forced to sell my business I have become broke and had cars reposessed etc. I am thinking about the Military.
I only have about 20 college credits to my name. I would be 30 years old by the time I got out of Boot camp for the Navy.
Will I be miserable with my maturity level and me being used to being the boss?? Will I hate my life enlisted in the navy going from wealthy business person clearing 1 thousand dollars a day to making peanuts enlisted at age 30 and getting bossed around by 18 yr olds????
I also want to advance quickly and want to get my 4 years degree and become an officer. Is this possible at this age in The navy or is this a pipe dream only to waste another 4-8 years of my life.
My other options are to go into business with my father, overseas in south america in his start up hostal and real estate business. Your thoughts!!??
