Open Question: I know its California, the land of fruits and nuts, but doesn’t this seem to push the envelope?
Because a 2 inch minnow might get caught in a pump that provides water to 80,000, and 60,000 farm jobs, has been turned off. Now even in the most liberal state in the union and home of that complete wack job Pelosi, isn’t this going too far? Here is a link.

Open Question: maths, evolution.. God?
yes. big block of text. it’s a rough sketch on an equation i’m starting, there’s enough here to see what i’m aiming at, and theres enough evidence (thanks to evolutionists) to help me along the way.

13% of people admit that they believe in evolution over millions of years as opposed to the idea that “God” created all forms of life. I’ve studied evolution, i wrote a 40+ page thesis on it several years ago, but i didn’t give much thought to the mathematical view of it.

some sources say that there are 1.6 million species of living things on earth (mammals, reptiles, birds, insects, plants, algae etc).. while others indicate that it’s more like 10 million, and others still, say it’s more like 30 million. that’s a lot of different types of species. when darwin came up with the theory 200 years ago there were less than a billion people on earth, and to be fair, there hasn’t been a lot of addition to his theory in that time. however the population of many species has boomed, almost uncontrollably.

the evolution time line suggests that the first single celled organisms appeared around 3.5 billion years ago, with the first mutation happening 1 billion years after that, (proof aside,) then after a long gap, sexual reproduction is said to have first appeared slightly over a billion years ago, and then various land creatures and fish showed up around 500-580 million years ago (same time? weird), and plants didn’t evolve until about 200 million years ago.. and us mammals and most of the land creatures have only been here for about 50 million years.

3.5 billion years from the first single celled organism, to today where we have (being conservative) around 10 million different species - on average, it’s a new species every 350 years, but of course the accelaration of such mutation and evolution suggests that today we should be seeing a whole new species evolving in much, much shorter time spans - if we were to calculate the average from 500 million years ago, it’s around 50 years, and if we’re to factor the modern population of each species into our equation (thereby having more living ‘generations’ where evolutionary mutations could take place), we should be seeing a new species once every few seconds.

the numbers here are trivial. the point is that due to so many living species, and their populations, we should be seeing all kinds of evolution. and we’re not. this means evolution, even if simply by observation, doesn’t occur.

leaving us with no other choice but to believe in a supreme being who’s behind it.. God maybe?

source for the 13%?: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/11/22/opinion/polls/main657083.shtml .. it could be more. it could be less, either way it’s hardly the point of my question.

acceleration = in terms of new mutations, they should be more “frequent” now than ever .. that’s my point..

no one’s feeling threatened here, are they?
howcome the supposedly “new” life forms are only viruses, surely we should be seeing other kinds of mammals, birds, flowers, plants etc..

no biased sources, just news and “edu’s”..

Open Question: What is this weird bug?
Okay… I was coming up the steps the other day and I heard a loud “click” noise. I didnt pay it any mind- but then I heard it again. I looked down and I saw the weirdest looking bug….

I kinda had the body of a roach but it looked like it had the eyes of a fish- It also seemed to “pop” up kind of like popcorn. Not like it was jumping but it was popping. Everytime it “popped” up it would make a loud “click” noise and land on its back.

Well I poked it with the broom handle and it “popped” up again. When it landed on its back I noticed that it didnt look like it had any legs- or if it did they were crossed up over its body.

It was the strangest thing Ive ever seen and I would like to know what it was. Post links and pictures if you can help me figure it out !

(Crappy description- But please help ! )
