A search for for Austin Homes can be easier when you think in terms of several factors including the expense of the home, drive time, what is available in the neighborhood itself and how close the home is to friends and family. Keeping all these factors in mind from the beginning will make the home search easier and more effective. All these factors are important in the search.
Neighborhoods for Austin Homes are Central Austin, Lake Travis, North Austin, Far Southwest Austin and the outlying areas in the North, South, northwest or Southwest part of the city. These areas compose the eight primary Austin Home areas. The neighborhood does have a bearing on price with those closer to the city being the most expensive.
Some of the older areas within Central Austin is Travis Heights to the south. There are properties within the $300K to $700K. If you look further ahead in areas like Bryker Woods, a areas which gained prominence in the 1930s prices can be as high as $800K. Areas like South Congress, have undergone major refurbishment, and being more up to date the property prices are a lot less. They can range anywhere from as low as $275K to $500K. Homes in the neighbor hood of Clarksville tend to be quite expensive starting of in the region of $300K and is situated more towards the western side of Austin. Enfield is another area that has properties ranging from $400K to nearly as much four million dollars.
Moving onto two southern communities such as Buda and Kyle, prices can fall down to as much as $100K. But there is one big benefit to buying a house in this area and that is obtaining a bigger property for a lower price.
There is a new toll road in the Northwestern side that brings other communities into the market such as Cedar Park, Lakeline Mall, and Leander. The prices of these homes is $100K to $400K. These neighborhoods also offer some nice amenities such as golf course. Lake front property will command more and go go for up to a million dollars.
Round Rock is a community north of Austin that has grown since Dell opened up operations there in 1994. Prices of homes range from $120K to $700K with a strong population base of 100,000 and featuring a good school system. Approval has been given to add the city’s metro bus system and an arts council was formed in 2009. There are residents from Texas State University and many artists, musicians and local business people.
Austin Homes that are available for sale is quite vast. The city is active, strong and draws people because of the educational opportunities and the sense of strong community and enrichment available to residents.
